Upholstery by Val Thompson

Val successfully completed her City and Guilds in upholstery at London Metropolitan University in 2008 and specialises in the re-upholstery of period chairs, including Victorian iron frames, using only traditional techniques.

In 2009 Val was awarded Second Prize in Advanced Upholstery skills by The Worshipful Company of Upholders (www.upholders.co.uk) for the re-upholstery of a pair of deep buttoned Victorian parlour chairs'.

The use of period frames ensures each chair, or pair, is a one-off that cannot be repeated. Chairs are covered in high quality, classically styled fabrics that complement both modern and traditional interior design. The use of traditional upholstery methods and quality fabrics ensures the finished chair will give years of pleasure as well as being a visually attractive piece of furniture.
